The eclectic group of independent restaurants behind the area’s Restaurant Week promotion is breaking out fixed-price menus again in hopes of getting consumers to visit them for a bite to eat.

The 40-restaurant Dine Originals Columbus group said its first marketing week of 2010 is scheduled for March 8-14. Dinner specials will include fixed prices at $10.10, $20.10 and $30.10.

Dine Originals hosted its first Restaurant Week a year ago and said restaurants that took part in it reported a 30 percent boost in sales for the seven days. The group hosted a second discount week in September.

“Guests are energized by the creative menus and the reasonable prices – especially in this economy – which inspire them to visit a place they’ve never tried or return to an old favorite,” Kamal Boulos, the group’s president and owner of the Refectory Restaurant and Bistro in Columbus, said in a release.
