One dead in crash on I-70 in Licking County
One person is dead and several others injured after three semis and a pickup truck crash on I-70 near Kirkersville in Licking County. Authorities say traffic was moving slowly because of construction when one of the semis--moving at full speed--struck the pickup and the other two semis. The accident took place at around 12:45am in the Eastbound lanes of 70. Crews are still on the scene and a detour has been set up around the accident scene.

Man indicted for COTA bus shooting
A man accused of firing a shot that struck a woman on a COTA bus has been indicted on 12 counts of felonious assault.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says a grand jury yesterday indicted 19-year-old Anthony Saunders III of Columbus in the April 16 shooting.
O'Brien says Saunders allegedly was shooting at a car just as the bus pulled up to drop off a passenger. 39 year old Amy Develvis was hit in the face by a bullet and lost one of her eyes.
Saunders could face more than 20 years in prison if convicted.

Home sales boom in Central Ohio
Home sales in central Ohio are booming. The Columbus Board of Realtors says nearly 24-hundred homes changed hands in April--a 30-percent increase since last year--and the 16th month of growth in a row. However, home prices have not been growing--the median sale price in central Ohio was 130-thousand--the same as in 2010. Houses are also selling quicker--with the average days on the market 73--down from 93 days last year.

Lawmakers move to close internet cafes
Ohio lawmakers have passed a bill that will essentially shut down the so-called internet cafes in the state. Lawmakers have been trying to find a way to close the 600-storefront operations that they say are illegal gambling parlors. House Bill 7 got final legislative approval yesterday and Governor Kasich is expected to sign it. Legislative leaders say they will continue to deal with other gambling issues--like how to regulate operations by fraternal and veterans groups.
