An autopsy is expected today in the hanging death over the weekend of death row inmate Billy Slagle, who had been set to be executed this week. An attorney for Slagle says she's shocked and saddened and says there were no warning signs that he might take his own life.

      A 1-year-old boy has died at a hospital, two days after being found unresponsive in a Hamilton home. Police have not identified the youngster but say they have charged Dylan Tompkins with child endangering for injuries the boy suffered.
 
      Gas prices have taken a jump in Ohio over the past week. The auto club AAA says the statewide average for regular gas is now $3.56 a gallon, up 12 cents from week-ago levels but still roughly 5 cents below the national average.
 
      Mosquitoes in a Dayton park trap have tested positive for West Nile virus. Public health officials say it is the first positive test in the Dayton area so far this season. The Dayton Daily News reports the Columbus area has also seen one positive test so far this summer.
