Senior Living Resource Guide

The Senior Living Resource Guide is Here!

The Senior Living Resource Guide will help you and your family research various living options within the central Ohio area. The guide will be broken down into different categories to make it easier to find what you are looking for. We have listed the different categories below. The Senior Living Resource Guide will be available starting November 1st, 2004.

Home Care and Services

Home care can be any number of services brought to the home to help maintain or restore a person's health and well-being. Such services can include skilled care (nursing, home health aides, therapists) and/or a variety of supportive services (homemaker services, medical equipment, meal preparation, transportation, social workers, etc.). Home-care services allow older persons to remain at home and maintain their independence, social ties, and their sense of security and control.

Hospice

Hospice is a special concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Hospice care neither prolongs life nor hastens death. Hospice staff and volunteers offer a specialized knowledge of medical care, including pain management. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of a patient's last days by offering comfort and dignity.
